Yes in classic fashion I planned to do a monthly dev-log and missed a few months. So, here we are.
To anyone reading, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the next couple minutes to catch up on my journey as a game-dev.
Starting off, I no longer am on a contract with anyone. Game-dev has been completely for me, myself and I lately and honestly, I kind of like it. I have been working on two separate projects at the moment, as well as playing around with UEFN Fortnite maps, and and EasyFPS Editor project. The EasyFPS Editor project is effectively done, it just needs lots of polish work. So I’m not actively “working” on it, more-so polishing it.
The two projects I’m working on are a hiking game (with some platformer elements) and a RPG game where the player takes on the role of a “Anti-Hero” sort of character who fights crime, but with a comic-book style action twist. There’s more for the imagination there that I’m excited to show off soon.
Right now I’ve really focused on maintaining my knowledge and experience as a Unity Dev, while expanding my Unreal Engine skills and knowledge. That’s why the hiking game is being done in UE5, it’s a much easier game with less pieces and parts. Really the game-play is… incredibly simple in fact mechanically speaking, I literally only have 1 singular system in it. It’s a, UI/UMG system, that’s it. Everything else is just, running, jumping, exploring, and taking in the good views.
Overall, these last couple months have been great. I’m excited to start showing these projects, roughly around December time-frame. And for anyone who read this far, thank you, and you will be the first to see these projects come to light!
